The 2015 Arsies: January 30, 2015

January 30, 2015 arse

Boom! Going into this last battle of the week, I was fairly convinced that Hark and Miasmal were bringing similar albums to this showdown, and that this would be a tough decision. As it turns out, not so much. See, while Hark's debut album has a swaggering bluster that is matched by Miasmal's Cursed Redeemer, only Crystalline has the unique ability of making you forget what it sounds like between listens, only to happily surprise you with catchy and enjoyable sludge that yes you actually did remember after all. Miasmal only sounds vaguely familiar as you hear it. Handsomely done, Hark! Let's see how you deal with Aborted in a week and a half.
That's it for another week! Next week, we'll finish Round 2, and that process starts on Monday with Revocation versus The Austerity Program.
