Now this here is a tough choice, with two bands playing to my peculiar tastes: Australian prog metalheads with a violinist Ne Obliviscaris and German Lovecraft fans Noneuclid! Going into this battle, I already knew that Noneuclid would provide the more harrowing musical experience with Metatheosis, but what I hadn't counted on is the overall polish of Ne Obvs' Citadel, and how it reveals by comparison the general incoherence shot through Noneuclid's album. Metatheosis has some many moments in its 68 minutes, but it also has a fair bit of headscratching. The Ne Obvs has just enough conventionality to not suffer that fate... and remember that we're talking about a prog metal band when I say that.
Tomorrow, we've got Skyharbor competing against Godflesh.
